Overview:
This is sort of Party
Central in the Gaslamp: big bar, big dance floor, big dining
area, big crowds. The idea here is that you enjoy dinner,
and then, when the music starts around 10 p.m., you dance
those calories away. Fun! Regulars and tourists all thrown
together, and all boogying down like there's no day after
tomorrow. (It's rumored that Bill Gates sometimes shows up
here and -- yes -- dances on the bar. We know people who
actually witnessed this. We also know that this guy is an
imposter. Sorry!)
The only bummer is the almost
always unwarranted line that forms on weekend nights because
Jimmy's resolutely unloving Beefo Guards force people to
stand outside once the dancing has begun inside. What -- are
they letting people in for private waltzing lessons with the
Pope? Still, once you're in -- you're in, and you can party
down, secure in the knowledge that it's unlikely that
anybody else is having any more fun anywhere else in the
Gaslamp.
