Overview:
Every Friday night, the
disco ball drops and the club really starts swingin. The eclecticness
of this bar might be its greatest appeal. The light
hardwood, oval bar nearly separates the club into two rooms
and allows revelers on either side a peek at the goods
they're missing over yonder. The floors are dark, worn
hardwood; the bannisters are wrought iron, and the curtains
that would split the bar in half if closed, are a deep,
plush red velvet. The art combines whimsical hand-painted
walls, strange black-and-white photos, a huge Picasso
imitation and a mirror the size of a small swimming pool
mounted at a precariously dangling angle.
The dining takes place
upstairs, above and away from the bar action, tiny dance floor
and stage below. The sangria here is tasty, if not a bit too
sweet and the crowd is young-business-person age with deep
pockets and the wardrobe to show it.
