Overview:
Located on the scenic
bluffs overlooking Black's Beach and the Pacific Ocean, the
Torrey Pines International Gliderport serves as a
recreational spot and teaching facility for paragliders and
hanglider enthusiasts. The gliderport offers instruction,
certification, tandem flights, equipment sales, adventure
tours and repair services, but it's also a beautiful hangout
on a sunny San Diego afternoon.
The snack shop sells affordable eats, and picnic benches are
placed conveniently for good views of the ocean and the
coast. Entertainment is provided by paragliders and
hangliders floating lazily overhead. The gliderport is also
a great spot to check out the sunset as it sinks into the
Pacific.
